Orange legacy
The first international game of the Dutch national team was played on 30 April 1905. A historic day for Dutch football - and for Eddy de Neve and Ben Stom. The former took care of all four Dutch strikes in and against Belgium. Ben Stom signed for his own goal in the game, which he won 1-4.
That day in Beerschot eight hundred spectators saw the Dutch national team play. Nowadays, the Dutch Team is closely followed by millions of people. The stadium is invariably crowded with international matches, which also attract around three million viewers on television. During the European Championships and World Championships, this even amounts to eight million viewers.
